Chairman's Message ![]() The last two months have been a whirlwind of activity: the primary election, our Lincoln Day Dinner, and now my election as State Central Committeeman for the 18th Congressional District. Congratulations to all our victorious primary candidates! Now on to a successful November election! While we many have the advantage in most of our local races, we will not take anything for granted and intend to work tirelessly to get out our Republican vote. Representative Aaron Schock is the favorite in the upcoming congressional battle, but by the intensity of Aaron's campaigning you'd never know it. At 6 a.m. the morning following his victory, Aaron was greeting voters in Peoria. He knows that elections are won one vote at a time at the grassroots level. Our Lincoln Day dinner was a remarkable success! Although Mayor Rudy Giuliani bowed out of the race and our dinner- only two days before the event, everything went smoothly thanks to our hard working committee who worked long hours. Tim Pawlenty , the dynamic young governor of Minnesota, came to our rescue. Governor Pawlenty, who is rumored to be on the short list of John McCain's picks for vice president was our keynote speaker. We may have lost a mayor that evening but we gained a governor. And what an inspiring speech Governor Pawlenty made! Many of our guests - which totaled nearly 1200 people- preferred him to Rudy Giuliani. So Goes politics! Many thanks go out to our generous Republican underwriters. Jean Ann and Gordon Honegger of Morton Community Bank who underwrote the outstanding audio -visual presentations. David Woodruff, D.D.S. who has offices in Hopedale and Peoria, donated the delicious hors d'oeuvres. and printed materials donated by Mutual Medical Plans. Then there's my election as the new State Central Committeeman for the 18th Congressional District. I look forward to representing our district at the state level. My goal is to make the 18th Congressional District the stare of the state. I intend to reach out to all the county chairs, to hear what they have to say, to share ideas with them and to do what can to make their job easier. Here's to our mutual success!
