The Illinois Republican Party hosts a state convention once every four years, approximately eight to ten weeks prior to the Republican National Convention. At the state convention, Republicans from all over Illinois will select Presidential electors to represent the state at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland on July 18-21, 2016. The Illinois Republican Party also conducts official business, including the election of Illinois’ representatives to the Republican National Committee and a reassessment of the party bylaws, platform, resolutions, rules, and procedures.
